Saturday, May 8: outspoken spokesperson

Nothing is by chance—everything happens because it has to

I woke up late today—like 6 am—and laid in bed, with the cat and my bestie iPhone, until 7. Social media in the morning derails the day. And the cat, who is almost always in bed, says it’s okay. But my monkey mind tells me I won’t have time to get anything done now, and it’s only 8 am.

By this time most mornings, I have already completed a series of activities that I rely on to start the day off right (see my post Cake from back in January) if you want to know how my mornings are supposed to go.

Ah, but there we are with what is (getting out of bed at 7) rather than what was supposed to be (getting out of bed at 5). On May 8, this is what had to happen and I have to write about it.

Saturdays in my time intentioning structure are about permission. On Saturday, I am supposed to note which of my priorities needs extra attention and “balance the duality of fun and responsibility.” Yes, I need to go to the market, do laundry, pay the bills, but I also need to do yoga, browse Etsy, and, apparently, sleep in. There, I said it, I slept in because I had to. It’s kind of embarrassing for me to admit, but I needed sleep.

Is sleeping until 7 on a Saturday fun or is it responsible? Not sure, but it’s not accidental.
